In 1989 a new line of He-Man toys were released just one year after the original toy series ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe‘ had ended. Labelled as simply ‘He-Man’ or ‘The New Adventure Of He-Man’, the animated series ran for 65 episodes over one season. The toys however lasted for four years between 1989 and 1992.
The new animated show saw He-Man moved from Eternia and placed in a sci-fi/space setting. The toys were also designed to reflect this new setting. Unfortunately, the TV show and toy-line didn’t do anywhere near as well as the original He-Man, failing to capture the magic of the original series.
He-Man Toys
The He-Man toys were split into two factions, the good forces lead by He-Man were known as Galactic Guardians. The Evil Mutants were of course lead by Skeltor and Flogg.
Unfortunately because of the lack of interest many characters never made. Prince Adam and Master Serbian for instance were major characters in the show who never had action figures produced.
