All the great cartoons of the 1980’s had awesome intro’s, whether it was a catchy theme song or a story introduction. We have put together a collection of the 25 greatest 80’s cartoon intros ever made.

 

25: SUPERTED


Superted was a British cartoon that first hit screens in 1983, while their was no catchy theme tune, the intro story was still very cool.

24: GO-BOTS

They may have been defeated in the robot wars of the 1980’s by Transformers. However, Go-Bots were still pretty cool and the intro was very pretty memorable.

23: DANGERMOUSE

Danger Mouse was a British cartoon from 1981 which had an incredibly catchy theme tune. In 2015 the show was revived by the BBC who kept the original theme tune, why change something so awesome?

22: BANANAMAN

Bananaman was the UK’s answer to Batman and Spiderman, unfortunately he never got his own movies. On our screens between 1983 and 1986, the theme tune was possibly the best part of the show!

21: CHIP 'N' DALE

Chip ‘N’ Dale his our screens in 1989, it had an awesome intro that you couldn’t help but sing along too.

20: ULYSSES 31

Older readers might remember this classic cartoon from 1981, Ulysses 31 was a French/American cartoon that only lasted one season.

19: DUCKTALES

Duck Tales had simply one of the catchiest theme tunes ever made. Play the video and try not to sing along, we dare you!

17: GUMMI BEARS

Disney’s Gummi Bears had one of the most catchiest theme tunes of the 1980’s, you just can’t help but sing along to this one!

16: INSPECTOR GADGET

Inspector Gadget hit our screens in 1983, long before the awful movies were ever made. However it was the awesome intro that most people will remember most fondly.

15: ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS

Alvin and the Chipmunks lasted 8 seasons from 1983 to 1990. One of the catchiest theme tunes ever made, its almost impossible not to sing along to.

14: JAYCE AND THE WHEELED WARRIORS

Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors had an action-packed intro and theme tune, unfortunately the show didn’t last very long.

13: DUNGEONS & DRAGONS

Everyone remembers Dungeons and Dragons, it didn’t have a theme tune but the intro story kept kids all over the world glued to their TV screens.

12: SILVERHAWKS

SilverHawks was never the most popular cartoon around, it only lasted one season, however the intro and theme tune were pretty awesome.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was one of the most popular cartoons of the 1980’s, the story-telling intro and theme tune are instantly recognisable to just above everyone around during that era.

Arguably the biggest cartoon of the decade, the iconic Transformers theme tune is one nobody could forget.
